The Art of the Lyric

What makes a good lyric? The wordsmiths from some of Broadway’s finest shows (including five Best Musicals) will discuss the rhymes and reasons of their craft. Participants include Marc Shaiman (Hairspray), Dick Scanlan (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Nell Benjamin (Mean Girls), Laurence O’Keefe (Heathers), Robert L. Freedman (A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder), and Murray Horwitz (Ain’t Misbehavin’). Bring your favorite lyric to share!
